About the Caramoor Virtuosi The Caramoor Virtuosi joyously embody the musical spirit of Caramoor: fostering the intimacy and immediacy of chamber music, cultivating collaborative music-making, and creatively engaging audiences in the shared excitement of musical performance.
Formed in 1999, the Virtuosi are a fellowship of adventurous musicians who trained at Caramoor as young artists, and have since built successful professional careers. They return to Caramoor periodically to appear in concerts. Listed at the end of this article are the Virtuosi who are appearing this year, and their career highlights to date.
Led by cellist Edward Arron, Artistic Director of the Caramoor Virtuosi, this extraordinarily accomplished group of artists seeks to expand the chamber concert experience with diverse, challenging, and engaging programming. Virtuosi concerts allow the audience to feel the camaraderie and fun that is the inevitable result of the musicians’ many personal and musical years together. The inclusion of young graduates of the Evnin Rising Stars program assures that the collective performance tradition, nurtured at Caramoor, is handed on to the next generation.

According to Edward Arron, “Each Caramoor experience is memorable. The musicians establish relationships, even if only for a week, and a chemistry develops. Caramoor is unique in that the Rising Stars and Virtuosi programs have created an association among musicians that’s especially long lasting. The number of musicians who consider Caramoor to be their musical home grows each year. Each year we see familiar faces combined with newer talents; each year the combination changes, creating a different chemistry every season.”

Support the Virtuosi A key part of Caramoor's mission is mentoring young professional musicians - the Rising Stars, the Vocal Rising Stars, Bel Canto Young Artists and Ernst Stiefel String Quartet-in-Residence. The Caramoor Virtuosi is one way we stay in touch with these musicians throughout their professional careers.
To support these programs or any others at Caramoor, please contact the Development Department, at 914.232.5035 ext. 261
