CARAMOOR "HOLIDAY" EVENTS
BEGIN NOVEMBER 13

Katonah, NY - The holiday season at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts begins in November with an elegant lunch and "master class" in proper table-setting, etiquette, and floral design and continues in December with a holiday Great Artists in the Music Room concert and the Caramoor House Museum's now-legendary Holiday Tea Musicales.

"Home for the Holidays"

On Tuesday, November 13 from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm, the House Museum, the former residence of Caramoor's founders, Walter and Lucie Rosen, will offer a special program:  "Home for the Holidays - Entertaining, Etiquette and Table Settings."  Participants at this informative and fun event will observe how to set a table the "proper way," view six different table settings, learn the difference between Continental and American table setting and how to create beautiful flower designs.  Over hors d'oeuvres and lunch and during presentations, participants will be given ideas for entertaining at home with ease and style, tips for organizing time, and guidelines for do's and don'ts.

Presenters for "Home for the Holidays..." are Liza Reiss, president and founder of Power of Etiquette, certified by American School of Protocol, and a teacher of etiquette classes to corporate employees; Mary Lou Pappas of Bedford, a freelance floral designer certified by the New York Botanical Garden; and Marcelle Carpentieri, an Armonk resident and dinnerware collector who has years of experience in entertaining and table design.

Tickets for "Home for the Holidays - Entertaining, Etiquette and Table Settings" are $135 per person, including hors d'oeuvres and lunch, and are limited to 40 participants.  Advance reservations are a must.

About Caramoor

Caramoor is the legacy of Walter and Lucie Rosen, who built the great house and filled it with their treasures.  Walter Rosen was the master planner for the Caramoor estate, bringing to reality his dream of creating a place to entertain friends from around the world.  Their musical evenings were the seeds of the annual summertime Caramoor International Music Festival, as well as the Fall and Spring musical programs held in their former home, now the House Museum.  Realizing the pleasure their friends took in the beauty of Caramoor - the house with its art collection, the gardens, and the musical programs - the Rosens established a Foundation to open Caramoor to the public in perpetuity.

Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts is located at 149 Girdle Ridge Road, Katonah, New York.
