 SWING YOUR PARTNER DO-SI-DO AT

A CARAMOOR HOEDOWN

ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14

Katonah, New York - Caramoor's elegant House Museum will host a swingin' hoedown on Friday, October 14, 2005 from 7:30 to 10:30 pm.  It'll be an old-fashioned barn dance - Square Dancing at Caramoor - complete with bales of hay, fiddles, and an authentic Southern dinner, all taking place in the heated Reception Tent, amidst Caramoor's charming architecture and gardens.

Square dance caller Liz Slade, who will be joined by a live old time Southern string band, will lead this fun-filled event.  No experience is necessary, just put on your cowboy hat and boots, grab your partner and y'all just come right over for a truly delightful evening.

Tickets are $33, children ages 7 to 16 years of age $26, and include the hoedown and a dinner of pulled pork with all the trimmings, coleslaw, and brownies-to-die-for.

Caramoor is located at 149 Girdle Ridge Road in Katonah, New York.  For information and tickets to Caramoor events call the Box Office at 914-232-1252 or visit www.caramoor.org.

About Caramoor

Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts is the legacy of Walter and Lucie Rosen, who built the great house and filled it with their treasures. Walter Rosen was the master planner for the Caramoor estate, bringing to reality his dream of creating a place to entertain friends from around the world.  Their musical evenings were the seeds of the International Music Festival of today.  Realizing the pleasure their friends took in the beauty of Caramoor - the house with its art collection; the gardens; and the musical programs on summer evenings - the Rosens established a Foundation to open Caramoor to the public in perpetuity.
