Volunteer Opportunities at Caramoor:
Rosen House Docent Rosen House Docents inform visitors about the history of the Rosen House, its artwork, furnishings and architecture. You’ll be fully trained about the lives of our founders, Walter and Lucie Rosen, and their priceless collection of fine and decorative arts. After training is completed, we request you docent once a week (May to October.) Complimentary tickets will be offered to selected Caramoor concerts.
Education Docent Education Docents take small groups of students through the Rosen House for either the What’s in a House program, or the Chinese Art and Culture program. You’ll interact with students and encourage them to ask questions and express their thoughts. Complimentary tickets will be offered to selected Caramoor concerts.
Usher Help make the experience of a concert at Caramoor memorable then become an usher. We request that. Ushers commit to assisting at five concerts, cover one graduation and attend one training session annually.
Audience Greeter Welcome visitors to Caramoor, assist them with directions and inquiries. You are the first face guests will see when they arrive, so you are the friendly face of Caramoor! You’ll greet and move patrons toward the theaters and picnic grounds quickly and smoothly, answer questions, give directions, and help get people to their cars after the concert. Greeters must commit to at least two concerts and one graduation per season.
Archivist Sort, identify and document blueprints, architectural drawings and specifications for all the construction that took place at Caramoor since its establishment in 1928. An architectural background is required.
Office Assistant You’ll help the Development and Marketing departments with mailings throughout the year, especially in the spring and summer. Duties include collating and folding materials, labeling and sealing envelopes. Depending on the number of volunteer hours provided, you may be eligible for complimentary concert tickets.
Garden Volunteer Help us keep our grounds spruced up with some light gardening.
