Katonah, NY – (November 5, 2014) – On Saturday, November 8 at 8:00pm, cellist Edward Arron will be joined by three fellow Evnin Rising Star alumni for an evening of chamber music in the Music Room of the Rosen House. For this concert, Arron, known for his creative programming, has selected works by Schubert, Dvořák, and Mendelssohn as well as contemporary composer Giya Kancheli. Pianist Jeewon Park, violinist Arnaud Sussmann, and violist Max Mandel will begin the evening with Schubert’s Adagio and Rondo Concertante in F for Piano Quartet, D. 487, followed by Dvořák’s Piano Quartet in D, Op. 23 and the modern Rag-Gidon-Time for String Trio (1999) by Kancheli. The program will close with Mendelssohn’s Piano-Quartet in c, Op. 1.

About Edward Arron
Cellist Edward Arron has garnered recognition worldwide for his elegant musicianship, impassioned performances, and creative programming. Arron began playing the cello at age seven in Cincinnati and continued his studies in New York with Peter Wiley. He is a graduate of The Juilliard School, where he was a student of Harvey Shapiro. Mr. Arron made his New York recital debut in 2000 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Since that time, he has appeared in recital, as a soloist with major orchestras, and as a chamber musician throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Arron has performed numerous times at Carnegie’s Weill and Zankel Halls, Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully and Avery Fisher Halls, New York’s Town Hall, and the 92nd Street Y, and is a frequent performer at Bargemusic. Festival appearances include Ravinia, Salzburg, Mostly Mozart, Tanglewood, Spoleto USA, and Bard Music Festival. He has participated in Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project as well as Isaac Stern’s Jerusalem Chamber Music Encounters. Mr. Arron has served on the faculty of New York University since 2009.

GETTING TO CARAMOOR: By car from the West Side of Manhattan and New Jersey, take the Saw Mill River Parkway north to Katonah. Exit at Route 35/Cross River. Turn right and, at the first traffic light, make a right turn onto Route 22 south. Travel 1.9 miles to the junction of Girdle Ridge Road. Follow the signs to Caramoor. By train, take the Harlem Division of the Metro-North Railroad to Katonah, New York. Taxi service from the station to Caramoor (5 minutes away) is available.
