Pat Carey, Longtime Trustee and Advocate for Arts Education, Passes Away

Pat Carey

Caramoor notes with sadness the passing of Patricia “Pat” Carey, of Rye. Pat joined the Caramoor Board of Trustees in 1978 and remained very active in its leadership until retiring in 2013. Always a tireless promoter of Caramoor’s beauty and musical attractions, she also served as Education Coordinator, beginning in the early 1970’s, creating Caramoor’s curriculum-based education programs which now serve over five thousand school children annually.

Along with John, her husband of more than 60 years, Pat was a familiar presence at many concerts each season. All who knew and worked with Pat appreciated her graciousness, and quietly positive outlook and support. She will truly be missed.

– Paul Rosenblum, Managing Director, on behalf of Caramoor’s Board of Trustees and Staff
