Katonah, NY - The holiday season at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts begins on November 18th with "Home for the Holidays – Entertaining, Etiquette and Table Settings," an elegant luncheon and "master class" of stylish entertaining featuring the legendary designer Carolyne Roehm. Holiday events continue in December with a Great Artists in the Music Room concert and Caramoor's celebrated Holiday Tea Musicales. All events take place in the historic Rosen House at Caramoor (formerly the House Museum) which will be magnificently decorated for the season.
"Home for the Holidays" On Tuesday, November 18th from 9:00am to 2:30pm, the historic Rosen House at Caramoor, the former residence of Caramoor's founders, Walter and Lucie Rosen, will offer the special program: "Home for the Holidays - Entertaining, Etiquette and Table Settings." Participants in this informative and fun event will be given all the tools they will ever need to entertain in a formal or not so formal way, but always in grand style, from table settings, to learning how to create beautiful flower designs, pairing wines to the food, and organizational skills. Several tables will be set from classic elegance to contemporary chic, giving the attendees great ideas on how to entertain with flair. During hors d'oeuvres and a scrumptious formal lunch, participants will be offered etiquette guidelines for the do's and don'ts of entertaining with humor and grace.
Presenters before and during lunch will be Liza Reiss, Mary Lou Pappas, Marcelle Carpentieri, and W. R. Tish. Following lunch, Carolyn Roehm will give a presentation about decorating and entertaining with what she calls "nature's quintessential color combination of blue and white." She will end by signing copies of her books, including her latest, A Passion for Blue & White. All books will be available for purchase.
After an impressive career as one of the fashion world's reigning designers and recognized in her own right as one of the world's best-dressed women, Ms. Roehm has now turned her talents to teaching others about flowers, lifestyle, decorating, and entertaining. Carolyne Roehm has several books to her credit including A Passion for Flowers, A Passion for Entertaining, At Home with Carolyne Roehm, and the upcoming A Passion for Blue & White. Ms. Reiss, president and founder of Power of Etiquette and president of R-Way Enterprises publishing division, is certified by American School of Protocol and teaches etiquette classes to corporate employees, adults, and children throughout the tri-state area. Ms. Pappas, a Bedford resident, is a freelance floral designer certified by the New York Botanical Garden and is Caramoor's floral designer in addition to the many weddings, parties, and private homes she beautifies. Ms. Carpentieri, an Armonk resident and serious dinnerware collector, brings years of entertaining and table design experience, creating beautiful table settings that provide perfect ambiance and compliment the food being served. Mr. Tish has been writing and speaking about wine and food for more than a decade through his firm Wine For All and for over ten years was the editor of Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

About Caramoor Caramoor is the legacy of Walter and Lucie Rosen, who built the great house and filled it with their treasures. Walter Rosen was the master planner for the Caramoor estate, bringing to reality his dream of creating a place to entertain friends from around the world. Their musical evenings were the seeds of today's summertime Caramoor International Music Festival as well as the Fall and Spring musical program held in their former home, now known as the historic Rosen House a Caramoor. Realizing the pleasure their friends took in the beauty of Caramoor - the house with its art collection, the gardens, and the musical programs - the Rosens established a public charity to open Caramoor to the community.
Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts is located at 149 Girdle Ridge Road, Katonah, New York.
