A DAY IN THE RENAISSANCE
Students are transported back in time and their social studies curriculum comes alive!
"Are you really 500 years old?" asked one student of a Renaissance Day Performer |
THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:
- Renaissance dance and song with I Giullari di Piazza
- The thrilling sport of falconry, demonstrated by our falconer flying his raptors in an open field
- Overview of original works of Renaissance art in the Rosen House
- Performance of Commedia dell'Arte by I Giullari di Piazza with student participation
BEFORE THE VISIT:
Teachers receive a workbook that describes the day's events, suggests classroom activities, and gives ideas for costume and banner making. Both children and adults are encouraged to come in costume.
