A DAY IN THE RENAISSANCE
Students are transported back in time and their social studies curriculum comes alive!

"Are you really 500 years old?"     asked one student of a Renaissance Day Performer

THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:

• In-school visit from two musicians from I Giullari di Piazza, a Renaissance musical theater group
• Renaissance dance and song with I Giullari di Piazza
• The thrilling sport of falconry, demonstrated by our falconer flying his raptors in an open field
• Overview of original works of Renaissance art in the Rosen House
• Performance of Commedia dell'Arte by I Giullari di Piazza with student participation

BEFORE THE VISIT: 
Teachers receive a workbook that describes the day's events, suggests classroom activities, and gives ideas for costume and banner making.  Both children and adults are encouraged to come in costume.
