October 27, 2010 For a young music student, who you study with and where you study is crucial to developing a strong technical foundation and discovering personal style. Renowned artists Midori and Ralph Kirshbaum, both of whom will be appearing at Caramoor this season, believe strongly in education and have taught some of this years Rising Stars at USC’s Thorton School of Music. Midori holds the prestigious Jascha Heifetz Chair, and also serves as Chair of the Strings Department; Ralph Kirshbaum holds the Gregor Piatigorsky Chair in Violoncello. Both artists provide valuable instruction to young artists at the brink of their career in addition to maintaining active performance schedules. For more information about USC’s Thorton School of Music, visit. http://www.usc.edu/schools/music/programs/strings/. Ralph Kirshbaum will be appearing this weekend with the Rising Stars, and Midori will be appearing in our Great Artists series on April 3rd. Leave the first comment
