Overview

Come with your little ones to a riveting storytelling performance to begin your Halloween festivities, followed by a special brew (hot cider) and other ghostly treats (cookies) served in the Summer Dining Room. Come in costume! Prizes given to all! Ages 3–8.

LuAnn Adams has created and performed thousands of Storytelling Programs for children and adults in Schools (Assemblies & Residencies) Public Libraries, Museums, Zoos, Aquariums, Girl/Boy Scouts, Hospitals, Special Needs Centers, and many other organizations in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Ohio, Kentucky, Nevada, Idaho. She recently performed on the Symphony of the Nile Cruise Boat in Egypt. She has received 19 Touring Grants from the Cincinnati Playhouse to create and perform a new Storytelling Program (’93-’11) of “Folktales for the 21st Century,” inspirational, multi-cultural stories that resonate in the lives of young people coming of age in the 21st Century. LuAnn has performed for the last 17 years at the Cincinnati Playhouse for the Rosenthal Next Generation Series of family concerts. She has conducted ‘Storytelling Master Classes’ and ‘Storytelling for Puppeteers’ Workshops at Northwestern University, in Chicago, for 5 years. She recently performed at the Clarke County School Librarians Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Her education includes a B.A. in Theatre Arts and Child Psychology, (Macalester College), M.F.A. in Acting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers University) where she studied with Ed Stern and Bill Esper. LuAnn also created residencies and performance pieces for C.L.I.M.B. Theatre as a Lead Actor/Educator for children with Special Needs.

LuAnn is a ‘Sole Provider of Services’ for the New York City Dept. of Ed (Storytelling Residencies, Professional Development Workshops & Performances), and also can be also be booked for her Storytelling Performances, Workshops and Residencies, through BOCES (Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester.)

LuAnn is a member of the National Storytelling Network, Actor’s Equity, AFTRA, National Writers Union, and a former Board Member of the NY Storytelling Center.
