Garden Listening is a way to experience select Venetian Theater concerts in a more relaxed way during the summer. You will be able to hear the concert broadcast onto Friends Field, but you will not be able to see it. Guests often continue to picnic and socialize throughout this listening experience.
All programs and artists are subject to change without notice. If an event presented by Caramoor has been cancelled or postponed, we will do everything within our power to make sure you know. This includes an announcement on our website, a post on social media, an email, and text. If you would like to confirm that a concert is taking place, please check our website or call the Box Office at 914.232.1252.

General FAQs
Yes! Parking is free and readily available for all guests, and designated ADA parking is offered close to our venues. If you have accessibility needs, please contact the Box Office at 914-232-1252 in advance to arrange assistance. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and ensure a smooth, enjoyable visit.
Our performance spaces include the Venetian Theater, Spanish Courtyard, Friends Field, and the Music Room in the Rosen House. We also stage performances in our gardens and fields. You can explore each of our distinct venues here.
All performances are presented rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, concerts may be moved to a covered or indoor venue to ensure the best possible experience for our guests.
If a performance scheduled for the Spanish Courtyard needs to be relocated, we will make every effort to provide comparable seating in the new venue. When Friends Field or Sunken Garden performances are moved under cover, seating will be provided and personal chairs should be left at home or in your vehicle.
If a venue change occurs, ticket holders will receive notifications by email and/or text, and a banner announcement will be posted on the homepage of our website.
Caramoor generally remains open, but extreme weather may require temporary closures or cancellations. If any changes occur, we will notify guests through their preferred communication methods and update our website.
In unexpected severe conditions, our staff will follow established emergency procedures, and guests are expected to follow all instructions. Because our campus is largely outdoors, some areas may be inaccessible during or after inclement weather. Please observe any posted restrictions.
Caramoor does not have a formal dress code. We recommend comfortable clothing and footwear suited to the weather and our outdoor setting. Some areas include lawns and unpaved paths. Shoes and clothing are required at all times.
Our hospitality offerings change throughout the year. Learn more about what amenities are currently available.
Yes! You are welcome to bring a picnic and beverages year-round. Open flames and barbecues are not permitted. Please help us keep the grounds beautiful by cleaning up after your visit. Waste receptacles are available, but if none are nearby, please follow a carry-in, carry-out approach.
For any questions about using the grounds for larger gatherings, contact us at 914.232.1252 or email info@caramoor.org.
Lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and coolers are welcome on the grounds, and lawn chairs may be used at performances on Friends Field and in the Sunken Garden. These items are not permitted in indoor performance venues.
Pop-up tents and beach umbrellas are not permitted during performances.
Caramoor Management reserves the right to restrict any items that could affect the enjoyment or safety of other guests.
To preserve the beauty of our grounds and ensure a comfortable experience for all our guests, smoking is prohibited except in designated permitted areas. This includes the use of cigarettes, cigars, pipes, electronic cigarettes, and similar devices. If you need assistance locating a designated smoking area, our staff and volunteers will be happy to guide you.

We also present a variety of family-friendly concerts and events throughout the year. Kids receive free or discounted tickets for select performances, making it easier for young listeners to experience the joy of live music.

Tips for Your Visit
These guidelines are designed to make your visit enjoyable and to protect the property and collections, as well as our guests.
When grounds are open for programs and concerts, please limit the use of Frisees, balls, kites, and other recreational activities that may impinge the safety and enjoyment of Caramoor by other guests.
For the preservation of our living, art, and historical collections, please refrain from climbing trees, fountains, and sculptures.
Leave pets, balloons, bicycles, rollerblades, and skateboards at home.
We make every effort to create a performance environment that is the best "listening room" for intimate live performances. This will ensure that you, other guests, and the performers enjoy the full benefits of the performance.
Once an unamplified performance is underway, please refrain from talking, whispering, or texting while the performance is in progress. For amplified performances and those on Friends Field, we understand that the atmosphere may be more convivial and we encourage you to enjoy yourself and your company!
Cell phones, electronic devices, or other noise devices should be switched to silent mode during the performance.
We encourage audience members to capture and share photos and videos before and after the performance (and tag us on social media!). However, photography, video, or audio recording while the performance is in progress is strictly prohibited.
If you arrive late for a concert, we will do our best to get you into the performance at the earliest appropriate break in the program so you can enjoy as much of the performance as possible without disturbing others. Late seating placement is at the discretion of management.
When do I applaud? What’s most important is you enjoyed the performance! In general, watching the conductor and performers’ reactions is a good way to tell if a piece has concluded. If the conductor’s arms are still up and the performers’ attentions are still focused on their music stands, then most likely there’s more music to come. When in doubt, it’s always safe to wait and follow what the rest of the audience does. If you do applaud between movements, don’t worry. After all, what’s most important is you enjoyed the performance!
