    Leadership
    Giving

Magnify your impact on Caramoor and sustain our 80-year legacy of music, mentorship, music education, community and history.

    Invest in Caramoor

Leadership donors ensure Caramoor’s sustainability and make it possible for us to present world-class classical, jazz, and roots performances. Their generosity supports emerging professional artists through exceptional mentorship programs, inspires young people through music and arts education, and preserves our beautiful grounds and the historic home of Walter and Lucie Rosen.

We would be delighted to explore how your philanthropic investment, through immediate-use or endowed contributions, can make a meaningful difference at Caramoor.

    Giving Opportunities

    1. You bring the music to life. Your support allows Caramoor to present extraordinary performances in Westchester County and cultivate a  vibrant gathering place for our community.

You may choose to underwrite a specific concert or make an immediate-use gift to support a particular genre. Gifts that establish named endowments, or that add to existing endowed genre-specific funds, are also deeply appreciated.

    2. For more than twenty years, the Evnin Rising Stars, Schwab Vocal Rising Stars, and Ernst Stiefel String Quartet-in-Residence programs have nurtured exceptionally talented early-career musicians. By contributing to the endowed funds that support these programs, or by making an immediate-use gift, you help foster artistic excellence and encourage the next generation of promising classical musicians.

    3. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and built between 1929 and 1939 by Walter Rosen, the Rosen House is a living piece of history. Home to remarkable examples of fine and decorative Asian and Renaissance art, the House welcomes visitors for tours and musical performances throughout the year. Commitments of both outright and endowed gifts for preservation and protection will ensure that this extraordinary home, and its many treasures, continue to inspire future generations.

    4. Caramoor’s 81-acre grounds feature lush flowering gardens, woodland trails, historic architectural elements, and a dynamic collection of sound art installations. Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, these spaces offer visitors a restorative experience and serve as the backdrop for many summer performances. Donors may support the ongoing curation, preservation, and enhancement of our grounds, gardens, and buildings through both immediate-use and endowed contributions.

    Donor Spotlight:
    Lisa and Paul Welch

Lisa and Paul Welch have been visiting Caramoor for more than thirty years. Their first date was a picnic lunch on Caramoor’s grounds, and they were later married in the Sunken Garden on what they describe as a “perfect, perfect day.” They regularly invite friends and family for a tour, a meal, or a concert so they can discover Caramoor’s many hidden treasures. Lisa and Paul especially enjoy the all-day jazz and roots festivals, where they host guests for lively BBQ picnics. They are also passionate about discovering new artists who perform at Caramoor, including harpist Edmar Castañeda, singer-songwriter Sarah Jarosz, and jazz pianist Joey Alexander.

In 2018, Lisa joined the Board of Trustees, deepening her and Paul’s engagement with Caramoor. They take great joy in supporting top priorities through their annual contributions and in attending special events that raise funds for Rosen House conservation, mentoring programs, and other important initiatives.

    • Caramoor has shaped so many of our happiest moments, from early dates to our wedding, so supporting it feels like giving back to a place that has enriched our lives—and that we love introducing to friends. Each gift is part of our stewardship of this special place, helping ensure that future audiences can discover the same sense of joy, beauty, and connection that means so much to us.
